The broad flower collar, called 'wesekh' in ancient Egyptian, was not only placed on the body of the deceased but also painted on sarcophagi as protection for eternity. On the shoulders of this collar, you see two falcon heads – the clasps referring to the sun god Horus or the death god Sokar. Such collars were specially reserved for the dead and symbolized the transition to the divine.
Each layer of the collar is carefully knitted: the geometric patterns, the flower motifs in red, blue, and green, and the central red sun disk. These socks bring the refined art of ancient Egypt into your daily life – a wearable piece of history that shows how the Egyptians believed beauty and art could transcend death.
